WOODWARD TURBINE OVERSPEED PROTECTION DEVICE PROTECH GII

Woodward PLC is leader in manufacturing Turbine Control System & over speed protection system. Protech GII is control device to protect turbine from overspeeding & thereby inclining towards breakdown or failure.
Protech GII safely shuts down steam, gas & hydro turbines upon sensing over speed or over acceleration event. It accurately monitors turbine rotor speed & acceleration via MPUs (Magnetic Pick Up) coils & issues shutdown command to turbine trip valves or installed trip system.

above is the picture of Woodward Protech GII overspeed protection device, which works on TMR (Tripple Modular Redundancy) concept. Normally DCS has redundant(double) modules specially of Power & Control Processors to avoid tripping of plant because of failure of one module. TMR concept is patented by Triconex plcs(Emergency Shutdown System, Instrumented Protective System, Fire & Gas System, Burner Management System) which is taken over by Schneider.

Function :

Interface to digital control and protection - Veinfurt
As you can see in the above picture, how Protech GII gets input speed signals via 3 magnetic pickup units(speed sensors) sending correct speed of steam turbine, based on the input signal if the turbine reaches overspeed limit, Protech GII gives output to Trip Block assembly which eventually closes Trip valve & stops further steam input to the turbine.

CBSE Class 10 Chemistry Chapter 3 Metals & Non Metals

Metals and Non-metals 3.1 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.1.1 Metals The easiest way to start grouping substances is by comparing their physical properties Activity 3.1 ·         Take samples of iron, copper, aluminium and magnesium. Note the appearance of each sample. ·         Clean the surface of each sample by rubbing them with sand paper and note their appearance again. After rubbing with sand paper metal is shining. Metals, in their pure state, have a shining surface. This property is called metallic lustre. Activity 3.2 ·         Take small pieces of iron, copper, aluminium, and magnesium. ·         Try to cut these metals with a sharp knife and note your observations. ·         Hold a piece of sodium metal with a pair of tongs. CAUTION: Always handle sodium metal with care. Dry it by pres...

SITE ACCEPTANCE TEST

SAT (Site Acceptance Test) Site acceptance test is test to verify the Automation system like DCS (Distributed Control System) & Subsystems are well connected & communicate with each other without having any Hardware or software failure. SAT activity requires involvement of MAC Contractor, EPC Contractor, Subsystem Vendor.         MAC (Main Automation Contractor i.e., Honeywell, Yokogawa etc.) should prepare SAT procedure & submit to PMT (Project Management Team) for approval during CDR (Critical Design Review). DCS (Distributed Control System) SAT also includes Integration Test with various Sub System or Package PLC (programmable logic Controllers) EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) Contractor coordinates & manages Integration Test activity with sub system vendors. EPC ensures DCS is ready for SAT Like ensuring all Eng/HIS( DCS Engineering Stations), all HIS(Human Interface Station), All DCS System Cabinets(Pro...
